The Poulan Pro PP125 is a decent weed eater for a good price, nothing more and nothing less. Fairly quiet, with solid power but also heavier than some other trimmers. Comes with a 2-year limited warranty.

Engine and power
The Poulan Pro PP125 is a gas weed eater powered by a 25cc engine. A Sure Fire starting system is used and it starts quite easily. The engine is two-stroke and not CARB compliant (not for sale in California), however there are no annoying fumes that will disrupt your work.
When trimming, the weed eater is fairly quiet – and switches to slow idle mode when not trimming. It uses a .095 inch cutting line with dual exit and offers a decent power.
Attachment system
This Poulan Pro trimmer is made with a split shaft which enables using various attachments – that`s probably the biggest advantage of this machine. There are 6 additional tools available so you can buy just those you need. They include: edger, blower, brush cutter, hedge trimmer, cultivator and a pole pruner.
The switching of the attachments is easy and takes just a moment.
Drawbacks
The first disadvantage of the PP125 is its weight – it`s not extra heavy but can become hand-fatiguing when carried for a long time. A shoulder strap would definitely help.
Some customers also complained on low quality of some parts holding the handle in the right position. And also that sometimes pressing down the throttle causes the engine to bog down – which requires a little tune-up to get the unit to function properly.

Conclusion: The PP125 is a decent machine for a good price – nevertheless if you don`t want to use those extra attachments and don`t mind spending a little more cash, we would rather recommend you the top gas weed eater – Hitachi CG22EASSLP. |
